More specifically, I will be discussing the creation of Earth Day and the action taken to make this a globally observed celebration of the environment. Graded Portion ● Historical Research Question: What initiated the momentum of environmental activism prior to the global observation of Earth Day? ● Other reasonable questions regarding this topic may involve the state of the environment during the origination of this holiday. This curiosity is valid considering the uninvolvement of the government in environmental action up to that point. However, my prior knowledge of the climate change denial present in congress makes me wonder: Who or what was persuasive enough to bring about awareness of this global issue?
