Patients from specific racial and ethnic backgrounds may have unique cultural ideas about health and illness, influencing their willingness to take preventive measures or adhere to prescribed medications and lifestyle changes.
Socioeconomic factors, including income, education, employment, and housing, can influence access to healthy living conditions and preventive care (Dixon et al., 2023). Healthcare systems must invest in an infrastructure that includes evidence-based interventions that cultivate a culture supporting clinician health and well-being to reach the quadruple aim in healthcare (Melnyk et al., 2020).
