HLTWHS005 - Assignment What you have to do Answer all the questions. Questions Manual handling is an activity which requires the use of force exerted by a person to lift, lower, pull, push, move, carry, restrain or hold any object, person or even animal. Think of the manual handling that you do in your workplace on a daily basis, list 4 of them. The four manual handling techniques that I do in workplace are: 1) Push 2) Pull 3) Carry 4) Lift For each manual handling activity that you perform in your workplace list ways that you can reduce injury when performing these manual-handling activities. 1) Push: while pushing load I will make sure that you got the clear view of your way. Don’t use your back muscle to push the load. 2) Pull: While pulling the load or trolley use your arm muscle. Don’t bend your back to pull the loads. 3) Carry: don’t carry too heavy loads. Keep your loads near to your waist height and with straight position. 4) Lift: while lifting your loads bend your knees, Put the pressure on the legs not in your back. Write 3 or more points of sample solutions to eliminate or control manual handling risks under the following heading: Working with mechanical equipment. Share your loads if its heavy Use correct manual handling techniques. If you are not sure about manual handling, ask your superior for the training and instructions.
