Strategies Implement a policy that is conducive to everyone regarding vaccinations. For example, allow an employee to opt out if it goes against their beliefs or medical reasons. Do more research to ensure that requiring mandatory vaccinations from employees would 100% always protect the facility and staff. For example, if its not 100% effective staff my decline to take it they don’t feel that it want be effective to the facility.
Strategies Accommodations for Medical, Religious Objections should be put into place. For example, health care managers should have a procedure in place in case someone is unable to get vaccinations according to one of the reasons listed above. In the event an accommodation is required, an interactive process a discussion about accommodations should take place or the employer(organization) could face liability for discrimination under the ADA or Title VII (and their state law equivalents). For example, if accommodations are required, they must ensure they go through the correct process.
Ensure that staff is aware of options that are available to them about mandatory vaccinations. For example: You don’t want to force someone to get a mandatory vaccination if they have a valid reason not to get it. And they are aware of options that are available to them. Out of these strategies I feel that ensuring that staff is aware of all options available to them is the most important, because I feel if you don’t tell them, you are not being upfront and honest, and they feel that they were forced into getting a vaccine.
