2 Contributing Factors to a Strategic Plan Organizations in the healthcare sector must make compromises in how they manage triggers because of the numerous ways that external factors affect them. The business's strategic plan, though, still reflects their sense of reality. This plan is used in the healthcare industry to formulate focused short- and long-term goals and objectives. The company's mission, values, and vision are consistently in line with the work that is done thanks to these strategic plans. If goals change, they will internally review them and determine what adjustments are necessary to ensure the organization's success. Medical professionals' input and opinions must be considered in decision-making, and the organization must inspire its teams to ensure that the objectives are met, and the business is able to continue to grow. Analysis of Federal and State Regulations Regulations imposed by the federal and local governments have an impact on the American healthcare system. Among these influences are POC programs, health services, support, demographics, and educational initiatives for healthcare workers. Regulation offers programs establishing public health and welfare and shields the general public's health from risk. Looking at how the federal government has regulated health throughout American history, the HCQIA, Medicare, Medicaid, CHIP, HRRP, and HIPPAA of 1996 are the most significant laws that paved the way for subsequent laws governing health. Federal regulations
3 serve as the foundation for state health regulations, which are further supported by state and local governments through funding and tax laws. Mental Health Regulations It is estimated that one in four adults in the United States has a diagnosable mental disorder, and some people even have multiple disorders at once. The federal government promotes these people's inclusion and civil ability while also establishing privacy standards, outlawing discrimination, and abuse, and preventing it. Both the local and federal governments oversee policies, programs, and laws. Health care, housing, and criminalization of those who fit this description are regulated by public policies. Changes in policies may have a positive or negative impact on people seeking treatments or services. A $1.4 trillion spending bill approved by Congress in 2020 included provisions to fund medical research and mental health treatment programs (APA, 2019). Regulations on Drugs 7% of Americans, according to a survey conducted in 2021, report having trouble paying for their prescription drugs (Rainberg, 2021). The FDA, CMS, and the Department of Health and Human Services all have federal regulatory authority over drugs. Indirect government funding contributes to the development of nearly half of approved medications and nearly two-thirds of drugs under priority review. In contrast to other nations, the United States government has no direct control over the price of the prescription market and is powerless to negotiate national pricing or impose price caps. Reform calls for reducing prescription drug costs to improve patient access; however, getting prescriptions from across state and federal borders is not only challenging for those looking for lower costs, but also illegal under the United States Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, which forbids the interstate shipment of illegal drugs. This includes generic versions of medications that have received U.S. approval. Licensed Health Care Provider's Contribution The physicians must be included in a strong strategy plan because they want an elevated level of presentation about the organization. They can encourage ideas and solicit feedback to participate in the decision-making process. Physicians are purposeful individuals who genuinely care about enhancing patient care and influencing their workplace. They play a significant and active role in the development and creation of the organization's strategic plan because they are eager to accomplish even the most challenging goals and corporate objectives if they can take personal ownership of them.
5 Financial Incentives and Reward Systems To motivate employees to work harder, financial incentives are used to promote behavior or actions within the organization. Designing performance metrics that are strategically relevant is the key to developing such a reward system. Then, to achieve incentives, evaluate each person's and each group's efforts. These programs boost productivity, employee morale, and employee retention for businesses that use them. Who Should Receive Financial Incentives Incentive programs should be offered by healthcare organizations to all levels of staff, including doctors, staff members, and even patients. Staff pay when performance goals are met and bonuses for doctors for a certain percentage of settled insurance claims have both been linked to increased motivation. Health organizations can use patient incentives to achieve specific objectives, like lowering the percentage of patients who don't take their medication as prescribed. Patients who receive incentives are more likely to take their medication, according to research. Chronic disease patients have been offered incentives if they participate in wellness programs and meet performance standards for insurance participation. Research has shown that providing incentives to employees can increase overall profits by $100,000 per week, so the healthcare industry shouldn't discount their value in boosting employee motivation. The main goals of this
6 employee incentive program are to boost productivity and reward excellent work. This can be accomplished with tangible assets, material possessions, or intangible rewards. Employee compensation rewards which typically go beyond the paycheck and benefits from the hours put in are intended to spur team members to work harder and accomplish objectives. Reward Options for Those Who Do Not Receive Financial Incentives Businesses that don't offer financial incentives can still use existing reward programs to get the same effect. Recognition is the most typical strategy for developing, implementing, and fostering specific program objectives. An employee can learn how much their employer values them by learning how they have helped their team and organization succeed. This is crucial for the growth of the company because it gives the employees a sense of security that motivates them to keep working harder. Management Action Options for Unachieved Objectives The purpose of management is to coordinate teamwork to accomplish the organization's stated objectives by working with others or through their teams. There are many things that can be done, but the most productive one is to set goals that are realistic and establish an ongoing process to help you achieve them and more. The management teams can implement ongoing processes to achieve goals once they have effectively set goals. The departmental managers participate in this by establishing departmental goals that complement or seek to complement organizational-wide objectives. Because there is no strategy overlap and everyone can see where they support one another, this lessens conflict between departments. In addition to team evaluations, this enables management teams to set personal performance goals and plans. The success of the business depends on performance management, which should be a continuous process. Conclusion Health organizations depend on a variety of factors to function, but they cannot succeed without the efforts of the teams and departments that help the organization function as a business. To ensure that goals are met, organizations must follow local, state, and federal regulations as well as their own, inspire their staff and patients, and increase physician input. These modest objectives are meant to conduct the strategic plans made to guide the health organization through each fiscal year, continue to provide patients with access, and continue to expand as a company.
