4.04 My Physical Activity (40 Points)
In this lesson, you learned about exercise, and you assessed if you were active enough based
on exercise guidelines. Use notes from the “Are You Active Enough?” in the lesson to
answer the following questions.
1.
What did you determine about your physical activity level in the “Are You Active
Enough?” activity in the Learn? Do you feel you need to make changes to your physical
activity? Explain your answer.
(10 points)
Write your answer below:
Knowing that I work out for an hour every day, practically five days a week, and spend
my weekends working on work-related activities, I consider myself to be fairly active
when it comes to engaging in physical activity every day and also home activities like
chores. Given this information and the amount of time I spend exercising during the day,
I can say with certainty that I won't be increasing my daily requirement for physical
activity because I devote a significant amount of time to my exercises and work at my
job.
2.
What changes could you make to improve your physical activity?
(10 points)
Write your answer below:
Increasing the amount of time I spend working out to two hours would help me be more
physically active overall because I tend to rush through my workouts in order to do my
homework and other household chores. Getting up early will also help me be more
physically active. Warming up and cooling down before and after a workout will also
help me get better overall results because it will lessen any discomfort in my body.
3.
How likely is it that you would make these changes? Be honest about barriers and
concerns. We all have them!
(10 points)
Write your answer below:
I am pretty much a heavy sleeper in real life, so some of these adjustments may be
concerning or problematic because I have problems falling asleep early. Here's where I
become annoyed when I wake up later than usual and start hurrying through my physical
activity time, making it unpleasant to go over the two hour limit. The fact that performing
warm-ups and cool-downs would take more time will irritate me because it means I

would have to spend more time doing these exercises to reduce my stiffness after every
workout. Nevertheless, I may give it some thought in the future.
4.
List at least three physical activities and/or sports that appeal to you that you could do to
increase your activity level.
(2 points per activity/sport; 6 points possible)
a.
Soccer
b.
Walking For Five Miles
c.
Jogging For Five Miles
5.
During your physical activity or sport, what could you eat or drink to improve your
performance? Provide an example of a food or beverage you enjoy before, during, or
after exercise.
(4 points)
Some things I could eat or drink during my physical activity
performance are drinking water and eating an energy bar to increase my performance in
an exercise or workout.
