The aims of national health insurance include a range of goals that are intended to improve the general health of a community. In addition to the hypotheses already described, other dimensions may be investigated: 1) Enhancing Preventive Healthcare: National health insurance programs should emphasize preventive measures to reduce the incidence of diseases. By promoting regular check-ups, vaccinations, and healthy lifestyle choices, the burden on the healthcare system can be minimized, leading to both better health outcomes and cost savings ( Bali, & Ramesh, 2021 ). 2) Reducing Health Disparities: A crucial goal is addressing and mitigating disparities in healthcare access and outcomes among different demographic groups. The national health insurance should strive to eliminate barriers that certain populations face, ensuring equitable access to quality healthcare services (Nadash et al., 2020). 3) Improving Health Infrastructure: National health insurance programs should contribute to the development and enhancement of health infrastructure. This includes investing in medical facilities, technology, and healthcare workforce training to meet the evolving needs of the population (Nadash et al., 2020). 4) Fostering Innovation: Encouraging innovation in medical research, technology, and treatment modalities is essential for advancing healthcare. National health insurance should allocate resources to support research and development, ensuring that the healthcare system remains at the forefront of medical advancements Critiques of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) by Senior Citizens:
1) Concerns about Coverage Adequacy: Some seniors express dissatisfaction with the coverage provided by the ACA, claiming that it doesn't adequately address their specific healthcare needs. This dissatisfaction may stem from a perception that the ACA's focus is skewed towards younger populations, neglecting the unique healthcare requirements of seniors (Nadash et al., 2020). 2) Financial Considerations: Seniors may criticize the ACA for its impact on their out-of-pocket costs. Some argue that the ACA has not done enough to address the rising costs of medications and healthcare services, leaving senior citizens burdened with higher expenses ( Bali, & Ramesh, 2021 ). 3) Complexity of the System: The complexity of the ACA, including the healthcare marketplace and insurance plans, can be daunting for seniors. This complexity may lead to confusion and frustration, hindering seniors from fully understanding and benefiting from the available healthcare options (Nadash et al., 2020). In conclusion, national health insurance goals extend beyond basic coverage, aiming to create a comprehensive and sustainable healthcare system. Understanding and addressing the concerns of specific demographic groups, such as seniors, is crucial for the successful implementation and acceptance of such programs ( Bali, & Ramesh, 2021 ).
