The job I imagine is a Healthcare Administrator. I would imagine working at one of the top hospitals here in Georgia, helping staff scheduling to ensure the facility runs smoothly. Recruiting new staff members and providing adequate training and also helping to create financial budgets. Healthcare Administrators help maintain balance by
developing new workflows that maximize organizational productivity.
In this setting I would have to work with Doctors, Nurses, and other staff as well as inpatient and outpatient to be able to provide the best care for patients and also creating the right space for employees to thrive in their environment.
While working in healthcare it is most important to work as a team as one person would not be able to provide the care that is needed for so many people at one time. The main
focus of Healthcare administrators should always be the patient and leading a team with enthusiasm.

Honestly, I am a trauma junkie. There is nothing more that I have wanted to do in my life more than being in a trauma bay. It excites me to work on someone and save them from whatever may be the problem at t the time. I would have many people to depend on in a setting like this. Like doctors, other nurses, surgeons, and maybe a few others. Everyone in the room has a very specific job in the trauma bay. It is like a brand new well-oiled engine, all the parts must do their job in order for the next to do theirs. When working in the healthcare industry it is important to work as a team because it takes many to make sure a patient is taken care of. People all have different roles to perform and different tasks to accomplish but all with one goal in mind, giving the patient the best care possible. When working as a team it is important to stay organized so that you
are able keep track of a patients care and what the next step for that patient in their.

Class- another great week of discussions! No matter what role you play in healthcare- direct patient care or indirect patient care, the role is important. We will need to perform some duties independently but others will rely on our work and expertise to help their job. We will also work collaboratively to make sure patient care and the healthcare system keeps working as it is meant to.

To begin my career, my preference is to work in a back-office setting, ideally at a busy clinic or doctor's office. As a medical coding specialist, I anticipate analyzing medical records and assigning codes. In a clinical environment, I would need to be knowledgeable about multiple coding systems, whereas in a large hospital, with a large number of patients, I would most likely be assigned to a specialized area of coding.
In either of these settings, I would rely on the expertise of healthcare administrative staff to ensure that medical records are accurately and thoroughly documented, while also meeting all legal requirements.
Beginning my career in a structured and professional setting would provide me with valuable opportunities to learn from more experienced coders and receive expert guidance from my superiors. I hope to have knowledge and feedback from auditors, who will audit my work, which will benefit me, most importantly in accomplishing my job
as a medical coder. Being a coding specialist is part of a cohesive team where the baton
has not been passed to me to finish the last part of the race, my input is just as important as every other health team member who has worked with the patient’s file.

The job I imagined having is Medical Assistant. Medical assistants work alongside physicians, mainly in outpatient or ambulatory care facilities, such as medical offices and clinics.
Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding information for insurance purposes. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by physician.
Working as a Medical assistant I would have to depend on the physicians
, Practice managers mainly in outpatient or ambulatory care facilities, such as medical offices and
clinics. Physicians will give written or verbal information to ensure the patient receives the best care. Practice managers ensure I have what is required for my job.
The Physician's and the patients would be the ones who depend on me to get my job done. Working with the physician will help ensure patient issues are addressed promptly. Patients rely on us because we are the link to the physician.
If we are not communicating with the physician, then the care of the patient will be neglected leading to far worse issue than what they initially called about. Team collaboration is essential. When health care professionals are not communicating effectively, patient safety is at risk for several reasons: lack of critical information, misinterpretation of information, unclear orders over the telephone, and overlooked changes in status. When all clinical and nonclinical staff collaborate effectively, health care teams can improve patient outcomes, prevent medical errors, improve efficiency and increase patient satisfaction
.
The strategy that I would use to create effective team communication would be to set a clear expectation of the tasks that are at hand. Foster an open communication for each of my teams so that I’m able to see each of their perspectives and ideas. Lastly, I would encourage feedback, embrace diversity and celebrate small wins.

The job I envision myself working with a medical records degree is in a private doctor's office. My colleagues will be nurses, nurse practitioners, medical assistants, and doctors. I imagine using my skills to help run the office by taking payments, pulling patient charts, scheduling appointments, filing paperwork, etc. I will be depending on my colleagues and myself to help get the job accomplished. Functioning together so that we have a well-developed system as a team. Also, I plan on learning every task that I can be of help in. I know the patients will depend on us as a whole to be meticulous in the care and quality of customer service they receive. Interdependence makes me feel like there will always be someone who will have my best interest at

heart. Knowing you have the support of a team makes my job easier. In healthcare teamwork will always play a major role. This allows for providing excellent patient support and care, can help reduce stress in work place, less room for errors, and happier clients. Being prepared is number one in strategizing for effective teamwork. Building trust amongst one another, setting clear goals, open communication, recognizing accomplishments and constructive feedback are always needed when collaborating and communicating with your team.
