Week 2: introduction to Minerals Activities to be completed: Download the mineral chart included in this module and fill out the table with information related to the mineral. 1) This week we are going to learn all about the minerals listed below. List them on your chart in the following order: 1-Talc 2-Gypsum 3-Calcite 4-Fluorite 5-Apatite 6-Feldspar 7-Quartz 8-Topaz 9-Corundum 10-Diamond 11-Olivine 12-Pyroxene (Augite) 13-Hornblende (Amphibole) 14-Biotite Mica 15-Potassium Feldspar 16-Muscovite Mica 17-Rose and Amethyst Quartz 18-Plagioclase Feldspar 2) Place a “dot” next to the minerals that are included in the “Mohs” Hardness Scale. 3) After completing the chart and learning the minerals, place a little star next to the minerals that are considered major “rock forming minerals.” This website may help you answer the above question.
