My Choices of parameters that I selected for this craters parameters lab is: - Projectile diameter= 100 m - Distance from crash site= 222 km - Trajectory angle= 90 - Projectile Velocity= 30 km/s - Target density= 240 m - Location selected: Appleton, Wisconsin (Because that were I grew up) - Selected Landmark: Burj Dubai (~800m) Compositio n Crater Depth Crater Width Impact Energy How Frequent Damage Fireball radius Ice 38 m 180 m 2.35 x 10^17 J 2,450 yrs n/a 0.00 km Porous rock 129 m 606 m 2.05 x 10^16 J 3,348 yrs n/a 0.00 km Dense rock 412 m 1934 m 3.41 x 10^17 J 5,709 yrs n/a 1.40 km Iron 445 m 3884 m 1.75 x 10^18 J 12,150 yrs n/a 2.41 km After completing this research, there was a few trends that was present in this lab. As seen throughout this lab Ice has the least Crater depth and width and Iron has the most crater depth and width and that’s because ice has a significant lower density (kg/m^3) comparing to iron.
