Briefly summarize the trends that you observe in this data. This simply requires you to communicate your observations of the figure/graph in words. The graph about sea level rise show that there has been a steady increase in sea level since 1880. In 1880 the average sea level was -183.31 mm while in 2020 the average sea level is now 61.74 mm. That makes the absolute change between 1880 and 2020 +245.05 mm. For the graph on the mass balance of U.S glaciers it show there was a slight steady decrease in glacier mass from around 1950 to 1980; however, the decrease in mass became much steeper and more rapid after the 80s. For the Gulkana Glacier the absolute change in mass was -31.01m and for the Lemon Creek Glacier it was -42.87m. 3. Reflect on these metrics and the lecture material from this module, and make a case in 50-100 words as to whether you think public health professionals should be concerned about climate change. You may argue either way, as you are graded on your justification and evidence, not on whether you agree or disagree. Public health professionals should be concerned about climate change based on the metrics I have observed on sea level rise and changes in glacier mass. The decrease in glacier mass that was depicted can be detrimental because glaciers act as a natural reservoir of fresh water. When glaciers shrink, there is an insufficent amount of freshwater available, which can have negative impacts on agriculture human settlements. Additionally, as sea levels rise, there is an increased risk of coastal flooding, which can cause property damage and loss of life. This can lead to the displacement of coastal communities, as well as damage to infrastructure like roads and

buildings. Overall, a decrease in glacier mass and increases in sea level can have far-reaching impacts on the environment and human societies, highlighting the urgency for action to address climate change.
