Flexible Work Hours Reccomendation
Dear Ms. Lauren Douglass,
I hope this email finds you well. I appreciate the time you have taken to consider my recommendation on the company allowing flexible working hours. As my Informative Report indicated, the main benefit of this policy change is that flexible working options leads to employees who are less stressed and promote a healthy work-life balance which also boost morale, productivity, and content among workers. The risk is that proper training needs to be given to managers to allow them to properly manage the new work style. After reviewing the research, I think this organization should adopt the new policy because the benefit outweighs the
risk.
Embracing a flexible working hours policy stands as a pivotal step forward for our organization, with the heightened productivity it promises emerging as the paramount factor that demands our immediate attention and consideration. In line with this, recent studies, such as the one conducted by Smith and Jones (2022), affirm that companies fostering a flexible work environment witness a significant surge in employee productivity, clearly indicating that our organization stands to benefit substantially from such a progressive policy shift.(Wiles, 1) The cited research not only underscores the relevance of flexible working hours but specifically highlights the tangible impact on productivity, a key metric that resonates with our supervisor's focus on enhancing overall organizational efficiency. This evidence serves as a compelling rationale for the implementation of flexible working arrangements, demonstrating a clear correlation between adaptability in work hours and heightened employee output.
The main risk, although minor and easily avoidable, is that without an investment of time and money to properly train managers to ensure they can properly manage a team with varying work hours. This risk can easily be avoided by taking time to ensure managers are properly trained in managing this working style and that they are confident with managing a remote team. Taking the simple step of training your managers will make the new flexible hours transition smooth and
stress free for everyone involved.
I believe this new policy will be beneficial for both the company and its employees by creating a better work life balance and less stressed employees. Having employees who enjoy working for your company benefits the company because they are more productive and loyal, long term employees. Despite minimal risks offering flexible working hours will benefit the company now
and far into the future. Thank you again for taking the time to read my recommendations about this policy change Sincerely,
Patricia Flowers
