Bryan Pereira Drafting Assignment #2: Literature-Review Matrix Purpose:
This assignment should give you a valuable tool for assessing how multiple sources you plan to use for your final paper align in terms of subject matter and claims. Further, your APA reference-page citations will give me a way to assess your grasp of APA format and offer feedback.
This assignment has two requirements:
1.
Fill out the literature-review matrix on p. 2 of this template. In your matrix, the left-hand column should indicate each source by the author’s last name and date of publication. The top row should indicate the particular aspects you wish to compare among your sources. As appropriate, fill in the middle cells of the matrix with whatever each source has to say about that particular aspect of your topic. If a source doesn’t address a particular aspect of the topic, you can leave that cell blank. Please see the sample literature-review matrix on p. 3
2.
Following the literature-review matrix, create an alphabetized reference list containing correct APA citations for the sources used in your matrix. Please see the sample reference list on p. 4. Remember that many databases will generate citations in a selected style, including APA. It’s always a good idea to check the formatting against the APA standards. The APA-4b section of A Writer’s Reference is a good resource for checking citation guidelines.
For full credit:
Your matrix should include at least four sources and four points of comparison among them. You are welcome to add additional sources and/or points of comparison:
To add another column, right-click in the table and select “insert”
“insert a column to the right.”
To add another row, right-click in the table and select “insert”
“insert rows below”
If necessary, you may drag the column rulers to resize columns:
Please submit this assignment as a Word document. Delete all the extra instructional material in the template and just submit your own

Sample Literature Review Matrix Template

This sample shows how one particular student used a matrix to examine what different types of research concerns emerged among four studies related to autism. Note that the initial question in this example is quite broad. Your own example may also be broad at this point, or you may already have a more focused research question. The specific subtopics listed across the top row are specific to this particular topic. For your own matrix, you’ll need to generate appropriate subtopics.
Initial broad research question: What controversies exist in how autism is understood, diagnosed, and treated?

How is autism diagnosed?
How is autism treated?
What causes autism?
