This recent article is directly related to a Solution on the Topic of Autism. ABA Services (Applied Behavior Analysis) is a service provided to Medicaid patients who become eligible through certain criteria. This recommended program provides multiple areas for patients who are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder or ADA. According to www.michigan.gov/autism/medicaid-michild-autism-benefit
, Copyright 2024, this program specifically addresses problematic areas for this diagnosis, such as, Language, Social, Communication skills, following instructions, behavioral challenges and peer to peer interactions. The ABA Program has been researched for 30 years by the surgeon general. Eligibility of these services and medical necessity must be proven before these services are covered by Medicaid. The first step of approval starts with an EPSDT, done by the Primary Care provider of
the patient, which will determine if the patient needs to be recommended for PIHP which is Prepaid Inpatient Health Plan. This plan will then allow the parents to arrange follow-up evaluations directly related to Autism. After an appropriate diagnostic evaluation is done by a licensed physician or practitioner and medical necessity is proven, the plan of care is started. The intensity of the program is based
on each specific need of the child. This positive program overall contributes to solutions and research directly related to Autism. “Medicaid Autism Bht/ABA Services.” SOM - State of Michigan
