Tentative Outline
Thesis – There have been many controversies that have arisen from the Covid-19 pandemic
such as ethical issues, social issues, and legal issues regarding the recent health findings in the
pandemic.
I.
Ethical issues
A.
“As regards testing, questions are raised such as whether it is ethical to use less
reliable tests in order to increase testing capacity or minimize harm for patients”
(CDC.gov).
1.
There have been many people questioning the ethicality of testing human
patients as it seems dangerous and unethical. Due to the harm this could
potentially do to someone’s health and overall long-term health.
II.
Social issues
B.
“Another issue is how wide testing should be and whether selective testing is in
accordance with principles of social justice. Patients who have recovered from
COVID-19 might have some degree of immunity but attributing certain
'immunopriviliges' raises ethical questions” (CDC.gov).
2.
Many people recovering from Covid-19 have not been given the proper care
they need and deserve. This ties in with the social injustices of the pandemic
because of how many people who should be receiving immediate care, have
not been leading to many questioning the social issues regarding the
pandemic.
III.
Legal issues
C.
“The rights to assemble, associate, practice one’s religion, and travel are
protected by the Constitution. However, state, and local governments have broad
powers to limit those rights to protect public health and safety during an
emergency. They can impose quarantines and curfews, close public spaces, ban
public gatherings, and restrict traffic” (CDC.gov).
3.
There have been many legal issues with the pandemic, one of many being
people referencing how many laws/announcements have been in violation of
the constitution.
