ANALYSIS: I WANDERED LONELY AS A CLOUD 2 Analysis: I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud The poem, written in 1807 by William Wordsworth, is a nature poem that lyrically captures the beauty of wildflowers while expressing the poet’s emotions. The poem focuses on the allure of nature. It recounts the poet’s enchantment with the majestic daffodils growing on a field beside a late. The wonder of the scene is to be communicated through the stanzas (Dong, 2019).   This analysis of the poem seeks to dress the following aspects; Themes: The main theme of the poem is the majesty of nature and human beings’ interactions with it. The poem illustrates how the solitude found in the field is peaceful taking away from the encompassing thoughts that fill man’s head. The man is so captivated that he compares the flowers to sparkling stars in space. The beautiful natural scene delights the poet and lifts his low and solitude mood. Character: The wonderer can be considered as a loner. The poem elevates the feeling of being alone. The poet, even though he finds pleasure in the pretty picture of daffodils in a group and even seems to merge with the scene, the feeling of isolation is ever-present. The feeling may reduce while in the beauty of a group, but it is ever there   (Dong, 2019).   Narrator: The poem is made up of four stanzas of six lines each. Wordsworth rhymes alternating line i.e. first with third and second with fourth. The first three stanzas focus on the poet’s experience at the field while the last stanza expresses the memory of the experience.   The poem illustrates how sometimes people miss to experience the scene before them. Humans mainly focus on what is happening in their lives. This poem expresses how nature thrives independently from humans and should be cherished.
