DISCUSSION TWO Hi, Define the terms boundary, open system, and closed system. Why are boundaries important from a systems perspective? Describe two families - one that would be considered an open system and the other a closed system. The definition of boundary is signaling who's in and out of the circle or bubble in life—for example, putting up with toxic family members or cutting them off and forming a boundary of peace. Whoever is causing a disturbance in one’s life they can pick and choose whether to associate themselves with people who like drama. Vs the people who want to change and can evolve. Boundaries are family, friends, neighbors, and religious organizations. An open system is interactions with healthcare and work systems; closed systems are closed off on the environment. This all deals with human interactions and behavior (Hutchinson, 2019). An example of a closed system is the Amish group of people they do not use a lot of what Americans use like electricity, soap, staying off the grid, and using horses for transportation. They don’t live in the cities but reside in the country areas and do not insert themselves with many outside people. They have their own community within themselves.
