Project 6: Audio Amplifier Testing Tue, Oct 31, 2023 Christopher Sfyndilis Sec 502. Group F Instructor: Zdenek Prentice
Purpose Carry out audio tests using a KMA 24 Equipment KMA 24 Audio Panel/Marker Beacon Reciever 33500B Series Waveform Generator InfiniiVision Digital Storage Oscilloscope Bendix King Ohmmeter Procedure Using the above equipment, we are to carry out a series of audio tests on the KMA 34 audio panel Results To start after we connected the audio panel to a power supply, we switched our radio to Comm2 and then connected alligator clips from the audio generator and two test probes to the corresponding test points, on comm 2, and cabin speaker with respective ground along with headphones in our headphone jack. The first audio test we were to carry out was a speaker amplifier test, with our probes connected to the test points we applied a 1 volt RMS, and 1 KHz signal from the audio generator to the comm 2 test jack

To then get our corresponding waveform reading on the oscilloscope with about 1V showing 999mV
The next test we were to carry out was a headphone amplifier test, with the same values at 1Vrms and 1KHz from the generator and the radio still selected to comm 2 we cranked the VRMS to 5Vrms for a slight shift in phase by the waveforms
Where the waveform reading shows 5V DC value and shift in phase

Along with a show of distortion during the test
We then carried out a microphone amplifier test where we connected the alligator clips, and probes to the respective test points being the mic test terminal and external speaker terminal switching the radio from Comm 2 to external (EXT) and applying a 0.5Vrms and a 1KHz signal we got an interesting waveform and the oscilloscope only read up to 130mV
We then conducted the mute function test, after switching the radio back to Comm 2, and connecting the probes to the respective test points.

We applied a 3Vrms and 1 KHz signal from the generator to the panel
And using the push to talk performed the mute function test
Lastly we performed a bandwidth test and applied a 5.550 KHz signal with a 1Vrms signal to the audio panel

For our bandwidth reading although the oscilloscope only read up to 700mV Conclusion Carried out audio function tests using KMA 24 udio panel, oscilloscope, and audio generator
