Project 2
Pictured above is the diagram I came up with. After watching the 3 videos. And following along, I took the schematic we made together and altered it slightly to get the new schematic. Truthfully, I ran into a number of issues at first. The first issue being a download issue with the software not downloading the right device support, then I ran into the issue with Quartus II not having the ModelSim in the right location, however I was able to fix this problems
in the end. In the schematic you will see our 4 outputs in the bottom left as they connect to our inverters, for Door, Window1, and Window2. As well as our AND gates in the center, and all of that being directed to our OR gate on the right that ends with our output.
Above is one of the many simulations I ran using our schematic seen before. I began with
Window 2 and set it to go off every 100 ns. Then I doubled this number going down, based off the truth table I used. Truthfully, (haha) I began running into some issues when it came to my expected result. Our output, pin_name1 in screen image 2 also called “WEEWOOWEEWOO” in
image 1, should be giving an output whenever “Armed” is going off as well as either Door, or Window 1or2. I would appreciate feedback on how I could improve my design to get the expected outcome.
This was one of my greatest challenges I’ve ever had in a Project. I’ve spent the last 3 days going over the textbook and the videos numerous times, however I am very proud of what I’ve accomplished and eagerly seek the feedback posted to this assignment. I do understand there
was a discussion board or that I can ask questions directly, I just felt really awful to ask for questions with the circumstances going on and thought I could power through and do the best I could on my own.
