Purpose: The purpose of this activity is to perform several experiments using resistors in order to understand their nature and familiarize ourselves with the lab equipment such as the multimeter. PART I: Resistance Color Codes 1 st Resistor. Color: red, violet, orange, silver. Estimated Resistance: 270 ohms ± 10 % Actual Reading: 0.284 kilo ohms 2 nd Resistor. Color: yellow, violet, brown, silver. Estimated Resistance: 470 ohms ±10 % Actual Reading: 0.48 kilo ohms 3 rd Resistor. Color: brown, black, red, silver. Estimated Reading: 1 kilo ohm ± 10 % Actual Reading: 1.01 kilo ohms
