January 30,2024 Good morning Team! I am proposing a new and exciting opportunity here at the children's Museum of Play. We know that parental involvement in education is a vital and essential for creating a cooperative environment for the student to be successful. When a student knows that he or she is receiving support both inside and outside of school the chances of them becoming successful and responsible in their everyday life are very likely. I know that there can be difficult parents who are not very interested in extracurricular activities for their children if they do not see the benefit. So, I am suggesting the Children's Museum of Play not only offer extracurricular activities to better the student’s education but also it benefits the family financially. As adults we understand that parents work and are very busy and may not be as supportive when it comes to extracurricular activities, but with the help of the Children's Museum of play their thoughts will change. Currently we have a yearly membership of $59.99 which in many cases can be unaffordable for families. I am suggesting we offer a yearly membership at half the cost and allow children to explore the museum at their leisure. We will offer after school programs that will keep the children until 6:00 PM they will be transported from their school via shuttle to the Children's Museum of Play at no additional cost to the parent. With this new effort of change we are hoping that this will allow for more traffic to the museum along with an increase in memberships. We will be sending out letters to current members and sending emails to the schools and asking them to post posters on the bulletin board around halls to help get the word out. We have multiple exhibits that will keep the interest of children in multiple age groups. From pre-K to 8th grade middle school. For our younger crowd Some of the exhibits we have are offering glowing in the dark slime station where children are able to create and customize their slime, we also have our planetarium exhibit for children who are interested in outer space we also have a prehistoric exhibit where children can indulge in their “Jurassic Park” interest. For our middle school aged children, we are offering research-based interest. Such as testing of different soils for agricultural purposes, investigating the greenhouse effect and how that benefits our planet, testing the effects pollution has on water amongst other things. If they're more interested in building with their hands we have a new exhibit of robotics! The purpose of this e-mail is to promote interest in science and allow families to see the benefit it has on their children all at a lower cost to them. Please respond with any suggestions, concerns and ideas that you may have that will spearhead this idea into coming into fruition. Thank you for your time, Taria Walker
