The group will create a 5 page scenario of a smaller company (50 to 200 employees, $5 million to $15 million in revenue), where the company is planning to expand its current "footprint" in North America to include new production facilities/offices in Canada and Mexico (at least one new office/facility in each country) and at least 2 new offices/facilities in the U.S. (in addition to its current, single facility). The written scenario created by the group will consist of 2 pages of introduction to the company, including brief descriptions of its products or services (lines), and the rest of the scenario (remaining 3 pages) will consist of an assessment of its current state with regards to computer networks utilized, networking security, and related information for the current state of the single facility/office. This will form the basis for the rest of the semester-long project, in that you will be given tasks to design network security mechanisms, security policies, and related tasks to coincide with the expansion into the new sites. Feel free to go beyond the 5 pages if necessary, but provide a justification in sufficient detail that your additional work in the document can then build upon the analyses and other parts of the project. Grading will be based on quality and quantity of ideas expressed in the scenario, perceived level of effort by the overall group in developing the scenario will factor in the grading, and professionalism of the overall document.
