Mental health stigma The purpose of today’s activity is to locate research articles for your paper using the databases available through the University of New Haven Library. 1) Using section #1 in the LibGuide, “What is a Database…” ( https://libguides.newhaven.edu/c.php? g=1182116&p=8644298 ) locate one multidisciplinary database and one subject specific database. The database that you choose should contain scholarly (peer-reviewed/academic) journal articles. Multidisciplinary Database Academic ebook collection Subject Specific Database 2) After reading section #2 and #2a, ( https://libguides.newhaven.edu/c.php?g=1182116&p=8644370 ) “Search Strategies and Techniques… “ identify the main search terms (concepts, phrases, or keywords) for your research topic. Remember to separate synonyms with the word OR. Search Term #1 Mental health stigma Ex: “implicit bias” Search Term #2 Working with mental illness Ex: policing Search Term #3 Depression statistics Ex: training OR education 3) Using the main search terms identified in Question #2, the next step is to search the library database Academic Search Premier or JSTOR (or both) to locate relevant articles on your topic. Please keep in mind these are both Multidisciplinary databases and can be found in the Subject Listing of Databases as Multidisciplinary. -Save the article (refer to section #2d https://libguides.newhaven.edu/c.php?g=1182116&p=8645905 ) . . Experiences of  stigma  and  discrimination  as predictors of  mental   health  help-seeking among sex workers. 6) Once you located the article above, look to see if the database you are using has a CITE feature. Refer to section #5.4 https://libguides.newhaven.edu/c.php?g=1182116&p=8644405#s-lg-box-28218054 - Using the article you found above, use the CITE feature to see if it is in correct APA 7 th format. - As mentioned in the guide, look at the formatting, capitalization, and italics to see if it is correct. - If it is not correct, use an APA 7 th citation style guide to put the scholarly journal into the proper format.
