Key Considerations for Fayetteville, NC 1. A reliable ISP: Making sure a solid steady high-speed connection is extremely important for effective coordination between employees and sharing of media 2. Support for teleconferencing: Having a strong network to support video conferencing between locations, in order to have proper communication all at once for employees across locations. 3. Printing transmission: The ability to be able to directly send projects to print for prototyping or confirmation is vital to the business when all locations are connected across the country. Constraints 1. Budget limitations: In order to try and maintain a fair budget. With opening a brand-new location, there are typically some form of financial caps with what hardware is able to be ordered. 2. ISP decision: The building being wired for many versions of connections would typically come with a choice of providers for the style and speed of a connection your business requires. I will include the following information of a system utilizing the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model. This model is made up of seven layers that allow computer networks to have diverse communication over the network as a whole. Application - Human-computer interaction layer where applications can access the network services. Its responsibilities are for the protocols and data manipulation that
software will rely on to present data to each end user, also known as the human-computer interaction layer. Presentation Layer - Translates or formats data for the application layer Session Layer - coordinates and terminates conversations between applications. Transport Layer – Responsible for transferring data across a network and provides error-checking mechanisms and data flow controls. Network Layer – This primary function is to move data into other networks. Data Link – Aka Protocol Layer, this manages the moving of data into and out of the physical link in the network. Physical Layer – Transports data using electrical, mechanical, or procedural interfaces. Network Hardware Components : Key network hardware components, including routers, switches, firewalls, and access points, are essential for network connectivity, security, and wireless access. IP Range Considerations : IP addressing will need to be designed to accommodate the eventual size of the network and potential growth outcomes. Correct subnetting and addressing scheme designs will be necessary to effectively allocate IP ranges across multiple departments and other in-house devices. LAN Topology : Considering the requirements and goals of the company, the recommended LAN topology for the office would be a star topology. LAN topology will allow for simple management and easy expansion when the company continues to grow. The central switch is able to connect all devices and if a switch were to fail, it would not have any effects on the network as a whole. The star topology can support teleconferencing and the ability to send print jobs across the network.

Bringing in a star topology will enable the NC office to have an efficient network infrastructure that will meet the needs, goals, and objectives of the company.
