[SHORTENED TITLE UP TO 50 CHARACTERS] 2 The kind of human services work that I would be interested in pursuing a career in is probations and correction treatment specialists. I believe the kind of human service network I would need to be familiar with is the kind of services that the individual would need to partake in to be rehabilitated back into not only society but also the community. I would have to understand that each individual case is different, and I would need to treat it as such. I would make sure that I would make myself familiar with the case. For example, if the person on probation was addicted to drugs before they were locked away, I would make sure that they would be made aware that one of their stipulations of their release is that they must attend a drug program and complete the drug program. Unfortunately, some programs won’t b made available to the person on probation/parole. For example, they would not be able to receive assistance when it comes to housing. I would do my best to put myself in a position to learn of alternative programs that could be available for them to help them get back on their feet, so they will not turn back to living a life of crime. If the parolee/ or person on probation has kids, I would enroll them in programs that would be beneficial to helping them fix their relationship with their kids and enroll them in parenting classes as well. I would make sure my knowledge would be well rounded to set each person up with the right programs for them and their situation.
