ASHFORD LIBRARY 2 What Does the Ashford Library Have to Offer? The Ashford University Library provides students with access to a digital treasure trove of resources that include books, magazines, journals, and multimedia. Each of these resources are scholarly resources, which includes scholarly journals, certain books, and other publications ( Quick ‘n’ Dirty, n.d.). The AU Library separates its resources into databases, which are searchable with keywords. The Ashford University Library provides invaluable resources for Ashford University students that are scholarly and often peer-reviewed, allowing them to conduct reliable and remote research for academic purposes. Students at Ashford University online are able to specify what sources they want to view using specific words, or keywords, that help them narrow down their resources to those that are most relevant to their chosen topic. These keywords are run through each of the AU Library databases and matched exactly, so it is a good idea to exclude filler words such as “and” or “the” and use short phrases if it must be longer than one word. Being very specific in your search will help to find the most relevant resources as quickly as possible. When searching through the AU Library, students are also able to specify that they would only like to view peer-reviewed sources; this means that these sources have been reviewed by other experts in the same subject field for authenticity and reliability ( Quick ‘n’ Dirty , n.d.). The Ashford University Library is ripe with useful information, organized and digitalized for the Ashford student’s convenience. One can search for any kind of scholarly information they may need from the comfort of their own home, all in a single online location. Whether peer- reviewed or just plain scholarly, the AU Library is a trusted source of information for any academic research.
