Guided Observation Form Teacher (Your Name): Roel Gutierrez Observation Date: 3/24/24 SimSchool Module Name: Teaching Diverse Learners Secondary 3.0 Observation focuses on 4 areas of teaching and learning: 1. Utilizing student assets 2. Learning goals that guide instruction and assessment 3. Lesson activities 4. Establishing a positive and safe learning environment Read the observation guiding questions and examples for each focus area in the left column and take notes during your observation in the right column . Not all parts need to be filled out. This activity is only to help you take notes while you are completing your simulation and better complete the Guided Observation Reflection. The Guided Observation Reflection will be what your instructor grades. Focus Area Notes During Observation ASSETS How do you the teacher connect to the students’ Funds of Knowledge? How did you (the teacher) connect the lesson to the students’ interests? How did the teacher connect the lesson to prior academic knowledge? Students will complete an online interest assessment using the Pennsylvania CareerZone online mini assessment. After assessment they will explore and pick careers within the identified area of interest. I like it because…. It gives all students explore different career opportunities that are out of their comfort zone. They get to examine their interest results after the Pennsylvania CareerZone assessment.
