Planning
Speech Topic:
Remote work policy.
General Purpose Statement
I plan to persuade my audience.
Audience Information:
My target audience will be bosses, supervisors, and CEOs of remote work employees/ businesses.
Audience Considerations:
I will need to consider the language and terminology remote work companies use, different tasks remote work employees complete, and what different companies find most important when it comes to their policies.
Introduction
Attention Getter:
Did you know that after COVID-19, many companies chose to remain exclusively remote?
Statement of Credibility
: “COVID-19 has accelerated the shift to remote work.” (Marcus, 2022).
Relevance Statement:
This is relevant because if your employees are remote workers, you will need to create a new policy for such work conditions.
Thesis Statement:
It is important to have remote work policies to ensure efficiency in a work from home setting.

Main Point One:
Remote work is the new normal and will be beneficial for both you and your employees.
Sub-point: Since the outbreak of COVID-19, businesses have switched to exclusively operating remotely.
Sub-point: Switching to remote work will allow more staff and more work to get done because your employees will be able to have their work wherever they are instead of just in the office.
Transition: Something else to consider will be the benefits of your employees.
Main Point Two:
There are also many benefits for your employees when it comes to remote working such as childcare and the elimination of unproductive commutes.
Sub-point: Employees with children will not have to worry about childcare since they can stay home with their children and work simultaneously.
Sub-point: Without an unproductive commute time, employers can get to work and get their work done sooner allowing for more time with family, more time at home, and more time to get errands done.
Transition: With all this said, you will need a strong remote work policy to have your business run smoothly.
Main Point Three:
This is what to consider when creating your policy.
Sub-point: Who will be providing the technology?
Sub-point: What type of attire would you like your employees to wear?
Sub-point: You may also be able to change your hours of operation since your employees will be “in the office” more than they would have been able to when working in the office building.
Transition: In all, it is important to consider switching to remote work for your business as it will
benefit not only you but your employees as well.
Conclusion
Statement of Closure:
This information may seem daunting, but ultimately this has been the right transition for many businesses.
Recap of Thesis/Main Points:
It is important to have remote work policies to ensure efficiency in a work from home setting. Working from home and having a remote work policy is necessary to ensure efficiency and productivity for your business.
