Report
To: George Boyd, Technical Writer From: Jewelldyn Yatar, Claims Manager Subject: Termination of Employment The purpose of this of this memo is to discuss termination of employment due to misconduct. Background Dear Mr. Boyd, This is to inform you through this letter that our most confidential information has leaked to a news reporter through a text message by you. We never expected this kind of negligence from any employee of the company. Our company adheres to ethics principles that protects the company, its employees, and clients. This ethics principles were discussed with you when you got hired with the company. Being said, you were aware with rules and regulations of the company as one of the technical writers but decided to break it. The next will discuss all the ethics principles that was defied. First ethic principle that was defied was legality. With legality, we observe the laws and regulations governing our profession, we meet the terms of contracts we undertake, and we ensure that all terms are consistent with laws and regulations locally and globally, as applicable, and with STC ethical principles (Society for Technical Communication). It is National Insuranc e Compan y
essential for organizations to promote moral conduct through ethics programs. Every employee must make ethical decisions as well. Second ethic principle that was defied was confidentiality. Confidentiality is extremely important in this company. Being able to handle personal details, data and other private information ethically is vital for companies to operate, retain the public's trust and meet specific compliance laws and regulations. While the exact nature of confidentiality may change, its fundamentals remain the same (“What Is the Importance of Confidentiality? (With Examples)”).   We respect the confidentiality of our clients, employers, and professional organizations. We disclose business-sensitive information only with their consent or when legally required to do so (Society for Technical Communication). We take this principle seriously and as a technical writer with the company you were expected to comply with it, but you decided to disregard it. Thirdly, fairness was also one of the ethics principles you disregarded. We serve the business interests of our clients and employers as long as they are consistent with the public good. Whenever possible, we avoid conflicts of interest in fulfilling our professional responsibilities and activities. If we discern a conflict of interest, we disclose it to those concerned and obtain their approval before proceeding (Society for Technical Communication). There are times that we may not agree with what is happening or happened with a claim that is submitted to us, but we need to be fair and look at the bigger picture before we judge it and leak the information about it. With all that was discussed above we saw that we concluded that most of our ethic principles was violated by you. So, our company National Insurance Company has decided to terminate your employment with itself, and this decision will be unchanged under all circumstances.
