1 Professional Communication Brittany Smith Rasmussen University COURSE#: Early Childhood Education Exploration Megan Feggestad December 11 th , 2023
2 Professional Communication Today I will be conducting a paper on an introduction of who I am and why I chose to become an Early Childhood Education Educator. I will describe ways I plan to foster positive relationships with the children and families that I serve. I will also illustrate forms of communication that I will communicate with families and encourage reciprocal communication with the families that I serve. Introduction and why I chose EDC. Hello friends! My name is Brittany, and I am an early childhood educator! I have a beautiful 5-year-old little boy who is the light of my life, and I am married to my high school sweetheart, so I know firsthand the importance of finding an educator that not only you can form a bond with professionally but also form a bond with throughout the year as your child grows and someone you can trust. From a young age, I knew I wanted to work with children, specifically preschool-aged children. I love their growing minds, and their curiosity, and being able to be a part of a child’s education even if it is preschool is so rewarding. I believe in patience, kindness, flexibility, and communication and I have a true passion for what I do. I will foster a positive relationship throughout our time together, by continuously monitoring your child’s growth, letting you know of any achievements they have, and of course, anything that we need to work on. I will take the time to be patient with your children, to hear them when they need to be heard, and guide them along the way. I will ask you the families if you have any suggestions throughout our time together. If you have a preference on how we do things, I have an open-door policy always feel free to call or text me at any time. I will send out surveys to see what our families like vs dislike. I will focus on constant communication with you regarding your child. If this means us chatting first thing each morning, or me sending out weekly progress emails on what we are doing and what is coming up on the calendar I will certainly do that as well. I will also implement a suggestion wall. If you have any suggestions or feedback, you can write it on there with your name or if you would prefer to do
3 it anonymously as well, please feel free. Thank you so much for taking the time to read about who I am and the values that I bring, and I cannot wait to start this new chapter!!
