Identify advantages and disadvantages of presenting information in a speech compared to a written paper. Some of the advantages of presenting information in a speech are engagement, clarity, and immediate feedback. Speeches can be more engaging than written papers because they allow for direct interaction with the audience. The speaker can use tone, body language, and eye contact to capture the audience's attention. A speech can clarify complex ideas and concepts more effectively than a written paper. The speaker can explain and elaborate on points in real-time, addressing questions and concerns as they arise. During a speech, the speaker can gauge the audience's understanding and adjust their delivery accordingly. This immediate feedback allows for on-the-spot clarification and adaptation. Some of the disadvantages of presenting information in a speech are limited time and audience size. Speeches are typically time-constrained, which can make it challenging to cover complex topics comprehensively. Large audiences can be more difficult to engage personally, making it harder to maintain everyone's attention and address individual questions. Reference: Beebe, S. A., Beebe, S. J., & Ivy, D. K.
