I have a focus student in my class named D who is a 3rd grade boy. He is African American and has ADHD for which he takes medication. Despite his challenges, he is a delightful kid to have in class. While he has had some difficult moments that have resulted in him sitting apart from his
peers, he has been making more positive choices which are known as "green choices". It's great to see that he is more eager to learn and pushes himself to study more. Due to his hard work, he raised his testing scores and tried to answer questions as much as possible. While there were many kids who could have been my focus student, I see a spark in D and hope that he will continue to do great if he keeps trying as hard as he has been.

Currently, the school is focusing on Black History Month, and they must speak about someone they will research and create a project with. I will be collaborating with your focus student on this project, which will provide a valuable opportunity for them to delve into the life and contributions of their chosen historical figure. By dressing up, acting like the person, and reciting
their words, your students will gain a deeper understanding of their subject and develop empathy and public speaking skills. Presenting the project to their class and families will further boost their confidence and communication abilities. Overall, this project is a valuable learning experience that combines various aspects of education and personal growth.
