In the chart below, record a learning target you plan to teach students in the next week. Apply what you have learned about alignment to determine the learning task students will complete to achieve the target. Record the task in the chart below. CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.L.2.2: Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English capitalization, punctuation, and spelling when writing.
Learning Task(s):
Dictation: Use the spelling dictation routine to help children transfer their knowledge of sound-spellings to writing. Observations of Student Engagement:
Students enjoyed working as a whole while doing the dictation routine. To start, I would say the word, and then have them repeat after me. Once we went through the list once, I chose a student to say a word, and then had the class repeat that word again as a whole. The student who said the word would then get to say it in a sentence. They were very engaged and caught on very quickly.
