IDEAL Problem-Solving Method When looking at scenario two, several troubling behaviors surface, such as possible betrayals of trust, abuses of power, and suspicions of unethical behavior. Addressing these problems successfully can be aided by using the IDEAL problem-solving approach. First, the problematic behaviors are discovered during the Identify stage ( Annizar , 2020). Examples of these behaviors include the HR executive's concerns about potential favoritism and Melissa and Rajantiben's lack of communication. The precise issue is then specified in the Define stage, with an emphasis on the breakdown in communication, possible abuse of authority, and moral dilemmas raised by Connie's actions. Next comes the Explore stage, where potential causes and remedies are investigated ( Annizar , 2020). These may include clearing up any misunderstandings, dealing with any apparent partiality, and looking into claims of unethical behavior. In the act stage, concrete actions are done, including arranging for open communication between HR, Melissa, and Rajantiben; looking into Connie's behavior; and putting policies in place to guarantee fairness and transparency in decision-making. Ultimately, the Learn step involves drawing conclusions from the process to avoid reoccurring problems in the future ( Annizar , 2020). These include the significance of upholding trust, encouraging candid communication, and swiftly resolving any ethical transgressions. By using the IDEAL problem- solving method, the organization can handle these difficult problems in an open, equitable, and morally sound manner. The scenario's behavior raises possible moral and legal issues. Melissa Anderson has raised concerns about fairness, integrity, and possible abuse of authority with her activities, especially her private meeting with Connie Maddox and her giving of privileges without necessary authorization or transparency. Connie appears to be bragging about using personal information for business purposes, which is a sign of unethical behavior that could
amount to blackmail or coercion, which is unlawful as well as immoral. To handle this matter professionally, a comprehensive investigation must be carried out to confirm the allegations and determine the scope of the problem. To maintain impartiality and confidentiality, HR should maintain open lines of communication with all parties. If unethical or unlawful behavior is proven, appropriate disciplinary measures should be implemented with a focus on restoring confidence, fairness, and compliance with legal and organizational norms. To resolve the issue, I would identify the key issues, including potential unethical behavior by Melissa Anderson and Connie Maddox, which could harm trust and fairness within the organization. My objectives would be to conduct a thorough investigation, ensure fairness and transparency in the process, and take appropriate action to address any wrongdoing. I would then consider various approaches, such as interviewing all involved parties separately to gather facts, reviewing communication records, and seeking advice from legal and HR professionals. Based on the gathered information, I would develop a plan to address the issue. This plan might involve convening a meeting with Melissa, Connie, HR executives, and Rajantiben to discuss the allegations openly and determine the appropriate course of action. After implementing the plan, I would evaluate its effectiveness and learn from the experience. This may involve updating policies and procedures to prevent similar incidents in the future and reinforcing the importance of ethical conduct and trust within the organization.
