WHAT IS HUMANITARIAN LOGISTICS Humanitarian logistics refers to the procedure used in planning, implementing, and ensuring a correct flow of goods and services (Chomilier & Chomilier, 2019). It also provides that there is an appropriate channel and media which is used to pass information in humanitarian operations. It also gets involved in managing logistic activities which support human interventions and help them get the immediate response in case of conflicts and disasters. How to plan and create an effective presentation. The following key steps are outlined below to plan and create an effective presentation. State the objective to be achieved after a certain period. The goals should also target the audience. It is done to guide the structure of your presentation. Understanding the target audience is important when planning for a presentation. It is important to know the audience's backgrounds, knowledge levels, and interests to try to resonate with them. I am gathering the relevant information that will fit the targeted audience. Ensure that you engage the audience in the discussion right at the beginning after introducing the topic. there should be the presence of visual aids to capture their attention of the audience but it should not be distractive. Explain the SOFTEN model of non-verbal communication. The SOFTEN model is a framework that helps understand and improve nonverbal cues (2016). Each letter represents a specific aspect, as explained below S-Smile: to create friendliness among the audience and create an approachable atmosphere. O-Open posture: this involves relaxation of the body F-Forward lean: this consists in leaning forward to show interest and that attentive T- Touch: it should always be cautious, mostly done to convey warmth. E- Eye contact: this shows that you are attentive and have an interest in the information given N-Nod: nodding when someone is speaking shows that you're attentive. If you were planning to do business in a culture opposite your own on the cultural dimensions of "power distance" and "individualism/collectivism," what challenges would you expect to face? How would you prepare? When doing business in a culture that is different from yours, there are several challenges that one is expected to face, as stated below
Power distance- Challenge. In a culture with high power distance, there is always a distance gap between the individuals who are respected at the high and significant hierarchies. Preparation. Educate yourself about cultural norms. Individualism/ collectivism. Challenge. Individualism culture emphasizes personal achievements, while collectivist culture depends on harmony and cooperation. You might face challenges if you come from an individualist culture and enter a collectivist culture. Preparation. Study the cultural norms related to collectivism and individualism. How does Amazon.com's CRM software help it to gain market share and maintain its competitive advantage? It supports its businesses in different ways: managing customer data, personalizing the targeted market, keeping customer service and supporting them. How are operating efficiencies realized in the order fulfilment activities of Amazon.com? Will costs continue falling, given that their warehouses currently work at less than 50% capacity? (Note: This measure is expected to change over time, depending on the state of the economy.) For the fulfilment of activities at amazon.com, operating efficiencies are realized through various strategies and technologies, namely, warehouse optimization, fulfilment centre network and delivery network optimization. Regarding costs continuing to fall, the situation can be affected by several afctors including; economies of scale, technological advancements, competitive landscape and customer expectations, and market conditions. What are the customer privacy risks, besides the ones mentioned in the case, that Amazon.com must guard against to continue to grow its business? Apart from the privacy risks managed by Amazon.com, they must guard against other privacy risks, namely, data breaches, third-party integrations, user tracking and profiling, and voice assistance.
