SUBJECT: BENEFITS AND CONFLICTS RESOLVE IN THE NEW TANNK FARM
We have come to the final stage of the ACME new tank farm project that will be partner with NCEG and will be built in Victoria, Texas. We are presenting benefits and conflicts resolve for us
as a company to adapt to the new culture and some of the negotiation strategy with NCEG. The new Tank Farm are bringing a positive impact for both countries, the U.S and China. We are searching for the best candidates for the International Development Director with high expectations and great knowledge between both countries. 1.
We will be present a presentation to NCEG about how we are as a company will adapt to Chinses business culture. Many of us already know that Chinese culture is rooted for thousands of years. One of the most important things is to understand their culture and have an accessible resource in their language – Mandarin. The oral presentation will be present in both English and Mandarin instead of having a translator. We will present our oral presentation in person and through team, during a time frame that both countries are available. In Chinese business culture, we also cannot miss a meal during these meeting. ACME will provide dinner follow up the oral presentation. The distance power is high in Chinese business culture so we will invite the president, Vice president, the CEO, CFO, and management that are involved in this proposal to the in person oral presentation. At the end of the oral presentation, we will also offer gift-giving which is a culture norm in Chinese business culture to present our welcoming and warming greeting for being their business partner. 2.
With the new proposal Tank Farm, which will provide thousands of jobs for our community and across the country, there will be some negotiation strategy with NCEG that needs to be made. The authority and seniority levels are very high, which any decision making, and communication must be discussed at the highest level. It’s very common that any negotiation is indirect in business culture. We need to be very mindful and understand the indirect nature of Chinese communication. In this negotiation, we will
use contextual factors especially the culture is more passive and will require more patience in the process. We encourage any offer that is make will be close to the expected
settlement. Because of the culture differences, we need to stay away from any direct criticism, or negativity in our negotiation toward NCEG. 3.
During the process of presenting our new proposal Tank Farm, we are seeking an individual that will lead International Development as the Director. We set very high expectations and have excellent knowledge of the oil and gas business and will be able to adapt and balance both cultures. We will post this position in the internal and external
