Poem
As a language and literature teacher, I would choose an animated short film called "The
Lost Thing" by Shaun Tan to teach the poem "Ozymandias" by Percy Bysshe Shelley. This film
tells the story of a boy discovering a strange creature on the beach while searching for something
to keep himself occupied. The creature appears lost and out of place in its surroundings, much
like the statue described in Shelley's poem, which was once great but now lies broken and
forgotten in the desert. Through this piece of media, students can better appreciate the theme of
mortality conveyed through both works and explore how various artistic mediums can convey
meaning effectively. Additionally, analyzing different visual and auditory elements in the film
alongside aspects of Shelley's language can help enhance students' understanding and
appreciation of poetic devices such as imagery, irony, and symbolism.
Educational Song
I would use a YouTube video to teach the song “I See the Light” by Moore and Levi.
YouTube is an incredibly powerful tool for teaching, as it allows for visual, auditory, and
interactive learning. With the help of YouTube, I can easily find a video of the educational song I
am looking for and use it to teach my students. This would allow them to hear the melody and
lyrics clearly and practice singing along with the accompaniment. In other words, the video can
be paused and rewound as needed, allowing the students to practice and learn the song at their
own pace. Additionally, I can use the video's comments section to answer any questions the
students may have. With the help of YouTube, I can easily teach a specific educational song to
my students.

Story
Media is a powerful tool for teaching stories and making them come alive. One piece of
media that can effectively teach a specific story is the Oscar-winning film "Schindler's List."
Directed by Steven Spielberg, the movie tells the true story of Oskar Schindler, a German
businessman who saved over 1,100 Jewish refugees during World War II by employing them in
his factory. The film humanizes the atrocities committed during the Holocaust and highlights the
courageous acts of those who risked their own lives to help others. It can be used in educational
settings to teach students about historical events, empathy, and ethical decision-making. With its
emotionally charged performances, gripping storyline, and stunning cinematography,
"Schindler's List" is an ideal piece of media to convey a powerful story with lasting impact.
