Student Statement
Plagiarism is a form of cheating. It is taking and using someone else’s
thoughts or writings and representing them as your own. Plagiarism is a
serious act and may result in a participant’s exclusion from a Unit of
Competency or a course. This in turn may require for students to pay to re-
complete the module or course at a later date. The following list outlines some of the activities for which a participant can
be accused of plagiarism:
1.
Presenting any work by another individual as one’s own unintentionally
2.
Handing in assessments markedly similar to or copied from another student
3.
Presenting the work of another individual or group as their own work.
4.
Handing up assessments without the adequate acknowledgement of sources used, including assessments taken totally or in part from the internet.
Many of the workbook activities are ‘open book’ yet should still be
conducted under test conditions without consultation with other students. If
you are unsure of any assessment requirements you should check with your
Trainer / Assessor.
By submitting this assessment electronically you declare that all work for
assessment tasks submitted for this assessment is your own with no part of

produced externally by a surveyor.
For this scenario, you will need to refer to the following documentation:
PN33837 Leary Ave Plan Pack V2.0
PN33837 Leary Ave Project Documentation V2.0
Activity 2.1- Plans - Answer sheet V1.0
Prior to commencement of the project, you are required to review the project documentation and the plan
pack in order to ensure that you understand the documents before starting the construction process.
To complete the build, you are aware that you will need to contract different labourers to assist you with
the various stages of construction.
You are to work through the following tasks as part of the planning phase for this construction project.

Part 1: Take-home and Viva activity related to topics covered in LO1.
|You work as a mechanical software engineer in a mechanical company which provides modelling and
design services for different types of mechanical applications. Your main tasks are to analyze and assess
different designs and obtain optimal solutions prior to any prototyping or manufacturing step. Your
direct manager assigned you to work on specific tasks for different running projects.
Project 1:
Simply supported beams are usually used in structures due to their high stability and performance in resisting
shear stress and bending moment, they are applied in variety of applications such as steel-frame used for
advertisement cars' chassis and bridges. Your role in a structure design company is to analyze and design the
bridge based on simply supported beam theory. Your manager asked you to calculate the distribution of shear
force, bending moment and stress đue to bending for bridge modeled as simply supported beam…

Case study
The contractor received a submittal package from the curtain wall subcontractor. Per the specifications, product
data, shop drawings, finish samples, fabrication sample, product test reports, field test reports, and design
analysis are required.
The product data, shop drawings, and finish samples are specified as action submittals, the other submittals are
specified to be informational submittals. The curtain wall shown on the drawings was a generic system and the
specifications provided a list of three acceptable systems, which had slightly different methods of fabrication and
attachment to the building structure.
When the curtain wall installation is 10% complete, the specifications call for the contractor to perform water
spray and air leakage tests. The results of these tests are to be submitted to the architect. The curtain wall
manufacturer prepared the action submittals, the product test reports, and the design analysis and gave them to
the subcontractor to submit.…
