2 VALUE PROPOSITION Walmart originating in Rogers, Arkansas as a small discount retailer has grown into thousands of stores in all 50 states and has now started to grow internationally. They are best known for operating Hypermarkets which is a supermarket and department store combination. Walmart offers a wide variety of products to its customers including electronics, groceries, pharmacy, and other household items. “The value proposition of Walmart is a reflection of its business policy: Providing its customers with a wide variety of products, at the lowest price and in the most convenient way possible.” (Pereira, 2020) PROFITABILITY Walmart has proven to be a very profitable company. “The retailer makes around $1.56 Billion in one day and approximately $49 Billion in monthly revenue.” Pereira, 2023). Walmart is also one of the top Fortune 500 Companies. Below you will find a graph showing Walmart’s profits from 2012-2022.

3 SWOT ANALYSIS STRENGTHS Wal-Mart has several strengths that can be leveraged to create a new service including the Multi- Channel Sales and Customer-centric Business Operations. Customer-centric Business Operations means they value their customer and their customer’s satisfaction. With this principle comes general success in new business ventures. In looking at its Opportunities Walmart has Expansion Initiatives and Partnerships and Collaborations and both of these will also help with a new service. PRODUCT OR SERVICE SINGULARITY The new service that Walmart will be looking to offer is Medical Clinics like an Urgent Care. The new service line will be called Wal-Mart Wellness. Wal-Mart Wellness will offer its customers the option to be seen for Medical Care which should be paired nicely with Walmart’s existing Pharmacy services. NEW PRODUCT OR SERVICE PROJECTIONS To date no other retail business operates an Urgent Care clinic within their store which would make Walmart the first. This would increase profitability not only by providing an additional service but it will also assist with the Pharmacy services and also attract more customers to an already very successful retail business. 4 successful new service provided by Walmart. Walmart strives to provide its customers products and services at a low cost and healthcare costs are at a very high level currently so this will help its consumers to be able to be provided with medical care at a reasonable cost. Walmart will contract with insurance companies to bill them for the patients care like how the already successful Pharmacy operates. I foresee this being a partnership with smaller hospitals where if further diagnostic services are needed such as MRI’s or CT scan’s those will be referred to them. Healthcare Facilities are needed and clinical staff are at a nationwide shortage so this is a great area for Walmart to be able to assist its customers. This will be an additional way that Walmart can be a one stop shop providing Urgent Care, Pharmacy and household products.
