Article Description The article selected for this week's discussion board is from  The Wall Street Journal; it  discusses the strategy made in Europe to reduce carbon emissions, where they now are implementing green steel carbon production, reducing the use of fired blast furnaces by 57%. Steel is considered very popular in the industries, and its pollution is affecting the world; with this new strategy, Europe can become nearly 50% green and low-carbon by 2030. This week, we have been discussing organizational design, and according to this article, the best definition to explain this key topic is by understanding that "Many companies also have explicitly stated objectives that drive their strategy. This information tells you about the design of the organization, the way the organization is put together, who does what, and who talks with whom." (Burton et al.,2004) So, the way this topic is related to the article selected is that, when doing business, businesses should take the initiative in different areas like this country did to become trustworthy and noticeable among other organizations. Application            The way this concept can be applied to the real world is by adding to the mission or vision of the company different things that can benefit not only the company but others (like the environment), and with this addition, it shows how the company. The way to address this successfully is by adding specific objectives like exploring recycling green commuting, especially for those employees that live nearby, and the organization can implement the usage of recycled paper. These small changes can be beneficial for everyone, and it states the organizational design of a company, and at the same time, it benefit the world by positively changing the way carbon emissions affect the globe. When considering the article stated above, the European policy of environment shows how advanced they are compared to other countries,
but this only means that countries like the US can be even more ambitious because it is possible to achieve it. This also benefits the business because people are willing to invest in eco-friendly organizations and products more than ever; this happens because now, in the present, there are visible changes in the environment, so people are more cautious when it comes to taking care of the environment.
