2 My name is Bryan Holden. I live in United States and currently unemployed. I am intending to take the precautionary measures and risk management techniques from this course. Only specific businesses, including as those in the construction, maritime, agricultural, sawmill, and telecommunications sectors, are subject to the OSHA-established vertical standards. These were established by OSHA to ensure the safety of workers in these industries because the majority of them use aerial lifts frequently, which can be dangerous for workers. OSHA makes sure that employees receive the appropriate training to make them aware of these risks and to give them the information they need to work safely (Laguna & Williams, n.d.). As a result, OSHA first issued vertical Standards. It has several positive outcomes, such as by encouraging organizations and staff to develop new and improved programs to offer safe and healthy working conditions, as well as encouraging employers and staff to reduce the amount of occupational safety and health risks at their workplaces (Perry, 2022). Implementation of the training programs in order to enhance the competency of the employees in the organizations involved in health & safety. Implementing training programs to increase the number and competence of workers in the field of occupational health and safety. It also worked by strengthening the gains established in the past to guarantee safe and healthy working conditions because of employer and employee effort. Creating an Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission to carry out the Act's adjudicatory functions and enabling the Secretary of Labor to impose mandatory workplace safety and health standards for businesses that have an impact on interstate commerce (Laguna & Williams, n.d.). Establishing sufficient reporting mechanisms for occupational safety and health will help meet the objectives of the Act and accurately describe the nature of the issue.
3 Besides its positive outcomes, there are also negative impacts, such as in order to comply with OSHA's statutory compliance requirements, employers are required to allocate the necessary cash for resolving any potentially hazardous work environments. Employers in specific industries, such as manufacturing firms, chemical plants, and construction sites, may find this strategy expensive. The process of making workplace improvements for compliance with safety and health regulations can be labour- and time-intensive, affecting normal corporate operations. Every organization strives to abide by safety and health rules. If a company has broken the law in the past, it will be at a disadvantage when participating in OSHA's Voluntary Protection Program (VPP). Now that OSHA is aware of the employer's compliance status for most of the workplaces in question, OSHA implements verification that the company is fulfilling its responsibilities. The increased focus on dysfunctional settings may annoy employers that aim to meet compliance standards. A company is required to pay the related penalty, which may be quite expensive if OSHA has issued a citation for a workplace accident or safety violation. A business that is committed to getting rid of all safety and health risks won't get cited by OSHA intentionally. The business, however, is subject to a deadline for paying any fines related to past violations; otherwise, it will be penalized every day until the issues are resolved (Perry, 2022). Required changes I would participate in the rulemaking process by giving suggestions. 4 OSHA standards. Additionally, the private sector continues to fall under federal OSHA jurisdiction. Additionally, the government holds federal leaders accountable for providing a secure workplace for its employees. For sectors like oil and gas exploration and drilling that fall outside of their purview, OSHA should establish more vertical Standards and occasionally enact new laws and regulations to protect worker safety. Employees in the private sector are covered by OSHA Standards in all 50 US States. It makes sure that all businesses adhere to its performance standards; to this end, OSHA performs routine inspections to see if there are any violations and imposes penalties. Employers are also given guidelines by OSHA to maintain employee safety. OSHA's performance standards so get better (Hendrickson, 2022).
