To what extent does the organizational culture of an organization to which you currently
belong or previously belonged support the strategic direction(s)? Can an overall strategy
be successful if it is counter to the belief of the culture? Why or why not?
Answer:
Organizational culture is founded on a set of shared values upheld by employees and
leadership that sets the organisation apart from others (Langton, et al. 2019). An
organization's beliefs and values serve as a guide for individuals and groups inside the firm,
assisting in the implementation of practises and tactics indicative of the culture.
My company's culture is based on flexibility, client centricity, goal-drivenness, and safety
concern. NB Power displays their capacity to adapt to shifting trends by identifying when
change is required and successfully implementing it throughout the company. NB Power has
committed resources to manage change and ensure that it is properly implemented throughout
our employee and customer bases. Furthermore, NB Power demonstrates their devotion to
their consumers in their goal statement, "to be the customers' preferred partner." Because of
the nature of our business, the organisation must set precise goals and adhere to stringent
deadlines to guarantee those goals are met. This has resulted in a concentration on objectives
and targets, displaying a mission-centered culture. Maintaining the safety of our employees
and customers entails staying on track with our objectives while working toward our strategic
objectives.
NB Power's strategic focuses are based on these aspects of our culture, allowing us to create a
framework that will allow us to prosper in our business. Recognizing our main cultural
features is vital since it provides us with insight into our company's operations and a clear
evaluation of our company's success based on the emphasis areas.
