Running head: BUSINESS 1 Interactive Activity Week 11 Student’s Name Institutional Affiliation
BUSINESS 2 Section 1 What does this material suggest are the kinds of projects that would best suit you? What does it suggest your strengths and weaknesses are as a project manager? How can you compensate for your weaknesses? Answer: After completing the Keirsey Temperament Sorter, I found out that the Guardian character attribute is the one that most accurately describes me. According to Keirsey.com Guardian (2016), Guardians have a natural ability for a range of activities, including monitoring, maintenance supply management, and supply management. These are the kinds of talents that may be put to use in a number of different contexts to protect the health and safety of a person's home, neighborhood, place of worship, place of employment, and the greater community as a whole in general. According to Chan and Gibbs (2022), two of the vulnerabilities that guardians have include a preoccupation with their own image as well as an innate sensitivity to the feelings of others who are in their immediate environment. They are often hurt when others point out the ways in which they might improve, but they thrive when they are praised for the qualities that are distinctively theirs as well as the selfless ways in which they satisfy the requirements of other people. BUSINESS 3 Section 2 Does public administration require efficient information technology that brings together different and interlinked areas?  Answer: Yes, efficient information technology that connects numerous places is essential for public management. To carry out its functions, a public administration needs reliable information technology that can link several sites. IT is vital to public administration because of its capacity to automate and reorganize processes. Decision-making, service delivery, and government accountability are all improved by IT (Guenduez et al., 2020). The internet connects the public safety, economic, medical, and occupational sectors. By connecting these facets of government, information may be accessible quickly and efficiently, facilitating better decision- making (Young, 2019). Information gathered from public works projects may be used to improve budgeting and cost tracking. IT makes it easier to collaborate across departments. Due to the diversity of departments' and organizations' missions, collaboration is essential (Young et al., 2019). Public administrators who work together effectively include affected parties in policymaking. Therefore, government officials need reliable information technology to carry out their duties. BUSINESS 4 on publicadministration. Perspectives on Public Management and Governance, 2(4), 301-313 Section 3 Discuss in detail, the factors that affect the new product development team’s performance. Answer: The effectiveness of the group working on the next big thing might be affected by a variety of external variables. The team's capacity to come up with fresh concepts, choose the most promising ones, refine those concepts into tangible goods, and bring those products to market are all crucial steps (Zhang et al., 2022). The team's innovative potential is tied to the sum of its members' individual creativity and expertise. The team's inventiveness may benefit from brainstorming and other methods of improving collaboration. Market research, trend analysis, and other methods may be used to expand the team's expertise. The team's capacity to analyze ideas and the criteria used for selection impact the team's ability to choose the best ideas (Ball et al., 2022). The team's technical abilities and expertise impact the team's capacity to convert these concepts into products. The team's marketing prowess and expertise will play a role in how successfully the items are brought to market. All of these things matter greatly to how well the team does while developing new products. References. Ball, Z., Cagan, J., & Kotovsky, K. (2022). Antecedents of knowledge- seeking intentions and efforts within new product development teams: empirical evidence from knowledge-based Chinese companies. Journal of Knowledge Management. Section 4 When other firms in your industry are behaving unethically, how can you buck the trend and position your company to value ethical behavior? Why is that important? Will it damage your company’s competitiveness? Answer: The company ought to become engaged in things like environmental protection and consumer safety via the manufacture of high-quality items that promote ethical behavior. Puteri Zarith (2014) argues that ethical marketing is crucial because it shows consumers that a company cares about doing the right thing and it prevents companies from using dishonest marketing tactics. When businesses prioritize ethical production, they may better serve their stakeholders by meeting their needs with superior products and services. Companies that prioritize ethical considerations are more likely to inspire customer loyalty since they are seen as more trustworthy. Ethical actions not only promote high-quality production, but also increase levels of customer satisfaction. In addition, a favorable reputation among stakeholders may be built by prompt action taken in response to concerns (Carroll, 2021). Being ethical does not reduce a business's competitive edge and, in fact, has the opposite effect. Businesses that care about their communities and comply with the law tend to attract more customers. From a different angle, it represents the polar opposite of relative equality in a community. The greater the power distance, the more unequally the power is distributed. Post-colonial nations are characterized by a power and prestige gap between the dominant and submissive groups (Wang, & Lalwani, 2019).Because in a collectivist culture, more people than just the CEO are engaged in decision-making, working for a corporation that values collectivism above individuality may be challenging. Finding your footing in a company where decisions are made as a group and where the collective knowledge of the group is valued more than the competence of any one person may be challenging. The following material should be read in order to prepare. Power Distancing: It is the village head and/or the tribe chief who decides on all major matters. Subordinates have very little say in village decisions that have far-reaching consequences for the whole community.
