Hello class! The question that we are to comment on for this post is a bit too broad to answer or even interpret because it is hard to understand exactly what is meant by the question. Advanced? In what way do they mean advanced? Lizards and mammals are not even categorically in the same classification, so it seems strange to compare one with the other. There are many differences that I can see between the two, but I cannot offer any kind of answer as to which one is more advanced. The first thing that I can see is that mammals are endothermic, and this means they regulate their body temperature by producing heat within their body, and lizards are ectothermic which means it relies mostly on the external environment to regulate its body temperature. Mammals are vertebrates with sweat glands and reptiles are vertebrates with scales and no sweat glands. There are some characteristics that mammals have, and lizards do not. They are as follows: mammary glands, three middle ear bones, hair, single boned lower jaw, one-time tooth replacement, diaphragm, and four-chambered hearts. They both breath air. There are some connections between mammals and reptiles such as for example the duck-billed platypus has mammary glands and hair which are characteristics of mammals and also lay eggs with yolks and shells[ CITATION BYJ23 \l 1033 ]. One is not more advanced than the other in any particular way that I can see but they are unique in many ways. There has been some ideas that there is correlation between brain size and intelligence level that has been disproven[ CITATION Urs16 \l 1033 ]. It is not the size of the brain that determines intelligence. In this way reptiles may have been wrongfully categorized as a less smart creature than mammals. They are very intelligent, as are mammals. Natural selection has helped some lizards and mammals to survive and pass on the genetics that kept them alive to their offspring. Such as large horns on lizards or long necks on giraffes. Adaption for protection from predators in order to better survive their environment such as how a chameleon can camouflage to avoid being seen by predators. Mammals can adapt to better survive their environment such as polar bears having very thick coats because the extreme cold weather where they live[ CITATION JCF08 \l 1033 ]. References BYJU'S.
