There are three solar system moons to choose from for this assignment: Your options are:

Pick one moon from those options above and answer the questions in this assignment. Certain questions
will require you to go beyond the lecture notes and find information from additional sources. These websites have all the information needed for this activity (the textbook can be used as well):

Based on the escape speed, do you expect your moon to have an atmosphere I highly
recommend examining the lecture notes from 9/21/23. You can assume the escape velocities calculated for molecules in the Martian atmosphere from that lecture are the same for your chosen moon listed in the solar system to support your explanation.
Explain your reasoning in 2-3 sentences [3 points]

This problem doesn’t require you to do any mathematical calculations. You can compare the numbers for your moon to other objects in the solar system and infer the atmospheric composition.
Question 3: Find one mission that has visited the planet hosting your chosen moon. Use information from that mission to fill out the answers below. Note:
The Hubble Space Telescope only stays in orbit around the Earth and has not visited any of these planets. [6 Points]
