A: He changed the role of the producer and invented studio technologies to
enhance the artists' live sound. His method of producing was known as the
“Wall of Sound” which consisted of putting many musicians in that same
small room and allowing for multiple instruments to “bleed” into one
microphone. He also invented doubling and used a heavy amount of reverb
on recordings to make the sound thicker. The producer gained full control
over the recording and release of the music.

samplers and computers at a time when other producers were using analog
technology. People say he should be commended for his innovations.

A: Riot grrrl is an underground feminist punk movement that began in the
early 1990s in Washington state. It is a subcultural movement that
combines feminist consciousness and punk style and politics. Adopted a
more aggressive sexual female persona as a way of controlling
their representations. By shifting the rules of what women could do,
Madonna opened the door for women to take control of female sexuality,
by using it on their own terms. The concept of Grrrl Power or feminist rock
has its roots in the punk scene, specifically with bands like Bikini Kill and
Bratmobile out of Olympia, Washington (not far from where Nirvana was
from). Members of these bands started the Riot Grrrl fanzine, which was a
feminist activist publication designed to increase women's involvement in
punk rock.
