Destiny Quattlebaum 7/21/23 Module Four Project Draft The work I had originally selected from Module Two was the painting “Starry Night”. The artwork known as "Starry Night" by Vincent van Gogh serves as a great influence of creative expression on both the artist himself and the broader context in which it exists. The painting was created in 1889 during Van Gogh's stay at the Saint-Paul-de-Mausole asylum in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, France. "Starry Night" was heavily influenced by Van Gogh's mental illness, which shaped his creative process. Van Gogh discovered comfort and purpose through the acts of his creativity, which meant for him to bring his emotions and thoughts while going through challenging times which impacted greatly from the artist and peer viewing his artwork. In what ways has "Starry Night" been embraced as a cultural symbol, and how has this influenced its cultural identities and movements? How does Vincent Van Gogh's cultural background and personal experiences influence the expressive style and themes in "Starry Night"? What does the culture benefit from the artist's expression through his painting “Starry Night”? Has "Starry Night" influenced your understanding of the relationship between an artist's personal experiences and their artistic creations? How do you interpret the cultural and societal impact of "Starry Night"?
How has the artistic expression of Vincent van Gogh in "Starry Night" influenced your perception of mental health? To answer the questions regarding going about answering these questions, would be my approach would involve examining various individuals' perspectives on how their own cultural experiences have been influenced by the artist's artwork. Moreover, I would examine the analyses and interpretations of art historians who have studied "Starry Night" extensively. With this knowledge I will reflect from my own perspective to his artwork, meaning reflecting on the origins of my popular beliefs.
