Describe some perceptions and observations present in your thinking regarding your chosen topic. I have worked in law enforcement before, at a state prison, as a correctional officer. I observed many coworkers who had an abusive, demeaning attitude with inmates. While working there, I heard many stories from the inmates about police brutality and abuses of power. So my perceptions are colored from this experience, as are my observations. 2. Explain your own biases regarding the topic you chose for your project. Despite my past work experience, I need to recognize the bias I might have in my preconceived notions about law enforcement in general. My life experiences have created a general bias in this matter.
