Sent Everyday Missionaries To become a sent everyday missionary, Christians need to strongly commit to serve God, serve others and serve our communities. There is a place for everyone in a church community. There are service opportunities for children’s and/or youth ministry that allow the teachings to be passed down to our next generation. Celebrate recovery or other groups that help fellow parishioners with overcoming and restoring their faith in Christ are a great way to help others. Then there are small groups for men and women or even Bible study groups to share the word of The Bible and everyday stories. While each of these areas are uniquely different, they all serve others in the house of the Lord the best way possible. The Christian Church provides three services to the community which include children’s ministry, celebrate recovery, and bible study groups. Children and Youth Ministry Children and Youth Ministry is the heart of the Christian faith’s future. While parents may have the most impact of children being led to the church to find Jesus, it is the service of those that are called upon to make Children’s and Youth Ministry matter and show them that we need to love one another the way that God loved his only son. (Kummer et al., 2020). The childhood life stages are the ones that are most open to receive the Gospel (Kummer et al., 2020). Not only leading them to the word young, but actually doing things that matter to help them understand that the word of The Bible is important to them as children. The churches that teach the children what the adults are learning are successful because then everyone can discuss what they have learned together after church or group. Teaching children to believe that there is value in every person and that if everyone can give Hope to their fellow man, then Jesus will change everything. 2
Recovery and Restoration When in need of recovery, it is God’s grace that those seek and will find in those that minister the struggles of everyday recovery. When a person is struggling with an addiction, they may commonly feel lost, misunderstood, lonely, or isolated. It could seem as though Jesus is not there when he is sought after. Engaging in a faith-filled program that follows the ways of Jesus gives direction that is needed to remain centered, by means of faith, on the recovery process ( Celebrate Recovery: A Christ-Centered Recovery Program 2019). In a Christ centered church that provides a safe place among struggling Christians that are surrounded by the love of Christ, healing miracles can take place every day. Originally began as AA and other assisted groups, Celebrate Recovery is a biblical recovery group that incorporates Principles and Bible verses that allow their group participants to become one with God by turning everything over to Him. From there, it is imperative to work the principles and repent, forgive and ask for forgiveness and then lead by example. It is important to know that no one is alone when struggling to find Jesus in the darkest of times. Bible Study Groups Attending a small group focused on Bible study is essential when being discipled or mentored spiritually and is proven to increase spiritual growth and can even help the non- believers follow Christ. Praying for others and confessing sins to God are two very positive things that can come out of church small group members, meaning that group matters (Stetzer, 2021). Study and small groups provide a comfortable connecting environment that applies God’s truth to life and helps us experience real life change. This is why it is pertinent that small groups multiply and reproduce so more can experience the word of God (Stetzer, 2021). It is not always possible that everyone can get to church and get to a small group regularly. To help with this 3

truth, if a group can get on the same page by having the same Bible readings or the same focus discussion, there are many ways to get the communication across; text groups, Facebook groups, virtual groups such as Zoom and any other outlets that can incorporate unity and God’s grace. A great way to begin a stronger walk with Christ is to get involved in the church. That can be achieved through ministry of children and youth, joining a recovery group, or leading or attending a bible study or small group. There is so much beyond just going to church. Providing service to the Lord through Children and Youth Ministry is detrimental in the future of the churches for generations to come. Helping others and yourself at the same time allows a community to help one another in their struggles with daily hurts, hang-ups, and habits. Getting into the Word of Christ is essential in a walk with Christ and one that should be shared in a community of believers. Jesus’ followers believed that saved people serve people and this can be said of these three ways to do so. Understanding that worship is a way of life, and that growth is imminent in this process is priceless. All of these things also teach us that no one has to do life alone and that there is a better tomorrow if we have a deeper relationship with Jesus. 4
