Use a minimum of three peer reviewed resources to support your subtopics (one resource per supporting paragraph). Make sure to use complete sentences when completing the outline. Expository Essay Topic: Three services the Christian church can provide the community Essay Title: Services the Christian Church provides for all members I. Introduction: ( Begin with a hook sentence to capture your audience’s attention, then provide a brief background of the topic and end with your thesis statement.) a. Hook: To become a sent everyday missionary, we as Christians need to strongly commit to serve God, serve others and serve our communities. b. Additional background information: There is a place for everyone in a church community. There are service opportunities for children’s and/or youth ministry, celebrate recovery or other groups to help your fellow parishioners and small groups for men and women or even Bible study groups.
c. Mapped Thesis statement ( review Topic 3 DQ1 for feedback from instructor ): The Christian Church provides three services to the community which include children’s ministry, celebrate recovery, and bible study groups. Supporting Point #1 (subtopic 1): Children’s Ministry a. Topic sentence for this first sub-topic Children and Youth Ministry is the heart of the Christian faith’s future. b. Two to three paraphrased supporting details from your research with in-text citations Supporting paraphrase 1: While parents may have the most impact of children being led to the church to find Jesus, it is the service of those that are called upon to make Children’s and Youth Ministry matter and show them that we need to love one another the way that Jesus loves kids. (Kummer et al., 2020). Supporting paraphrase 2: The childhood life stage are the ones that are most open to receive the Gospel (Kummer et al., 2020). Supporting Point #2 (subtopic 2): Celebrate Recovery a. Topic sentence for this second sub-topic: When in need of recovery, it is God’s grace that you seek and will find in those that minister with you in your struggles.

Two to three paraphrased supporting details from your research with in-text citations Supporting paraphrase 1: Christian codependents that seek theological and psychological help turn to church-based groups that can provide the setting needed to refocus or restructure their belief settings to recover from their behavior ( Riordan & Simone, 1993). Supporting paraphrase 2: In a scripture incorporated environment that provided a safe place among fellow struggling Christians in a community surrounded by faith, healing miracles can take place every day (Riordan & Simone, 1993). Supporting Point #3 (subtopic 3): Bible Study Groups a. Topic sentence for this third sub-topic: Attending a small group focused on Bible study is essential when being discipled or mentored spiritually and is proven to increase spiritual growth and can even help the non-believers follow Christ. b. Two to three paraphrased supporting details from your research with in-text citations Supporting paraphrase 1: Praying for others and confessing sins to God are two very positive things that can come out of church small group members, meaning that group matters (Stetzer, 2021). Supporting paraphrase 2: Study and small groups provide a comfortable connecting environment that applies God’s truth to life and helps us experience real life change.
